mPhase TV+ System is a one-stop solution for turning telephone networks into entertainment delivery networks. This single product eliminates a multiplicity of different equipment and providers yet delivers the same functionality.
The mPhase system manages television programming prior to its transmission over braodband networks to television sets equiped with a set top box. It also performs administrative tasks such as firmware updates, electronic program guide downloads, channel authorization and service and billing provisioning, including such functions as pay-per-view and video-on- demand.
The command center for the network is services control center managed the TV+ software module called the SMS or services management system. The system uses a cluster architecture to ensure reliability and scalability of the system.
The mPhase TV+ System was optimized to operate in an open network environment. The system is standards-based, it can be used with most vendor’s DSLAMs and/or multi-cast routers making it relatively easy and cost-effective for service providers to add television as part of their service offering. |
